Here’s how to make the best peach smoothie! The incredible creamy flavor tastes like a milkshake, but it’s full of healthy ingredients.
Here’s the peach smoothie of your dreams! Really. You’ll be blown away by the creamy texture and bright peach flavor, accented with vanilla and cinnamon. It tastes more like a milkshake! But it’s made with healthy ingredients like peaches, banana and Greek yogurt. This one is a huge hit in our house: after the first slurp we were singing its praises (including our 3 year old). It’s even good enough to serve as a healthy dessert. Ready to get blending?
Why it’s the best peach smoothie
Some peach smoothies are just good: but this one is great. What makes it so special?
- It’s got a silky smooth, creamy texture. Just the right thickness for sipping!
- It’s got pure, sweet flavor. It’s perfectly peachy with a hint of vanilla and cinnamon.
- It’s full of healthy ingredients: no peach yogurt, jam or nectar! There’s no added sweetener: just natural ingredients. And none of those specialty peach ingredients.
- It’s protein filled and packed with Vitamin C. This recipe uses Greek yogurt, so it’s got lots of good protein! And the Vitamin C is off the charts.
Ingredients for this peach smoothie
No specialty peach ingredients in this smoothie: it’s all good, healthy ingredients! Here’s what you’ll need for this recipe:
- Frozen peaches: It’s easy to find frozen peaches at the store, and you don’t have to worry about timing your smoothie when they’re perfectly ripe. That said: you can also make this smoothie with fresh peaches: if you do, use a frozen banana.
- Fresh banana: Banana helps with natural sweetness and creamy texture.
- Greek yogurt: Greek yogurt gives this recipe a protein boost and helpful probiotics.
- Ice: Adding ice gives just the right frothy texture to this smoothie.
- Milk: Milk brings creaminess to make it a sort of peaches and cream smoothie! You can also use non-dairy milk of your choosing.
- Maple syrup or honey: Just a touch of sweetener amps the flavor. Use your favorite natural sweetener!
- Vanilla & cinnamon: These flavors are key to bringing in the milkshake flavor! They’re key in peach pie, and take this peach smoothie over the top.
How to make it plant based / vegan!
You can make this peach smoothie plant-based or vegan by doing the following:
- Make a peach banana smoothie. Take out the Greek yogurt and add more banana! Blend 2 cups frozen peaches, 2 bananas (room temperature), ½ cup water and 8 ice cubes with the same amount of vanilla and cinnamon.
- Substitute non-dairy milk AND vegan yogurt or ½ banana for the yogurt. Oat milk is usually a little sweeter and creamier so we tend to like that a little more. You could also try coconut milk, which adds a nice coconut essence, or soy milk. Then for the yogurt, use vegan yogurt or another ½ banana.
More flavor variations!
Want to vary your peach smoothie? Here are a few more flavor ideas to mix in:
- Peach Coconut smoothie. Use coconut milk instead of standard milk to bring a coconut essence.
- Peach Mint or Peach Basil smoothie. Add a few fresh mint or basil leaves for an herbaceous spin.
- Peach Mango smoothie. Substitute 1 cup of the frozen peaches for 1 cup frozen mangos.
Can you store this peach smoothie?
Smoothies are best eaten immediately. This peach smoothie lasts 1 day refrigerated, stored in a sealed container or a mason jar with the lid on. It may separate, which is perfectly natural. Just shake it up and you’re good to go! After 1 day, it starts to lose flavor: so we don’t recommend storing for longer.
